The Prime Yogi Act

I. Powers of the Prime Yogi
(1) The Prime Yogi is the presiding officer of the Sangha.
(2) The Prime Yogi may appoint any Enlightened to serve as Yogi, this power is reserved to the Prime Yogi alone.
(3) Any powers delegated herein to the Prime Yogi may also be exercised by the Yogi when the Yogi is acting in place of the Prime Yogi, unless explicitly specified otherwise.
(4) The Prime Yogi may censure Enlightened when they have disrupted the decorum or good order of the Sangha. Such a censure may range from a verbal warning to a prohibition on speaking in the Sangha for a period not exceeding 21 days. Censures lasting over 7 days must be approved by the Council of Sages.
(5) The Prime Yogi may petition the Council of Sages to remove the status of Enlightened from those who have repeatedly disrupted the decorum or good order of the Sangha.
(6) The Prime Yogi shall be responsible for interpreting the Procedural Rules of the Sangha.
(7) The Prime Yogi may assign some or all of their powers and responsibilities to Yogi. The Prime Yogi shall inform the Sangha of this fact.
II. Elections
(1) Any Jiva may nominate an Enlightened to serve as Prime Yogi. For a nomination to be valid, the nominee must accept said nomination.
(2) A nomination made outside of the nomination period shall be considered a challenge to the incumbent Prime Yogi.
(3) The Prime Yogi cannot be challenged during the first two weeks of their term.
(4) The nomination period, lasting 3 days, is opened by the Council of Sages when:
a. Office of the Prime Yogi is vacant and there is no Yogi to assume it.
b. The Prime Yogi has been validly challenged.
(5) If the Prime Yogi is removed or resigns when challenged, their Yogi becomes the new Prime Yogi and is challenged in their stead. If the only challenger to the post was the new Prime Yogi, the nomination or voting period is canceled and the Section (3) grace period shall begin.
(6) A nominee may withdraw from the election during the nomination period. If after a nominee withdrew from the election there is no other nominee, the nomination period ends and elections are canceled.
(7) If after the nomination period ends, there is only one nominee standing in the election and the office of the Prime Yogi is vacant, elections are not opened and it is presumed that the Sangha has tacitly chosen that nominee for the Prime Yogi.
(8) When the nomination period ends, the elections are opened by the Council of Sages. The Council of Sages decides on the duration of elections.
(9) Only Enlightened may vote in the election of the Prime Yogi.
(10) Voters may choose between retaining the incumbent Prime Yogi or electing one of the nominees.
(11) The Prime Yogi shall be elected via instant run-off voting. In a situation where no one candidate receives a simple majority of 50% + 1 votes in the first round, a second round of voting between the top two candidates shall occur.
(12) In case of a draw in the second round:
a. If one of the top two candidates was the incumbent Prime Yogi, said Prime Yogi is the winner.
b. In every other case the Council of Sages shall decide the winner.
(13) A candidate that receives a simple majority in any round or a candidate chosen according to the Section (12) of this Article, is the winner and begins a new term as the Prime Yogi.
