So, firstly, I feel obligated to inform you that I am a terrible writer and that you will probably see crimes against literature committed in this little travel writing. As such the unauthorized redistribution of this writing while not prohibited would cause a certain Spirit Fox cardiac arrest. Secondly, since I disappeared for a few months I've decided to scrap what I had before and just start from a fresh slate. So, on that note, here's my trip to The Empire of Mare Nostrum!
At first, I wasn't really sure how I was going to decide which region to visit. I was very out of touch with region's relationships with each other (still am at the time of writing this) so it seemed like sticking with a region that had an embassy with Karma would be smart. Then again, that doesn't sound very exciting, and I was going to be trying to write something that was at least a little bit interesting. So instead of sticking with embassies, I decided to click through our embassies embassies! (embassy-ception) And I so happened to come across The Empire of Mare Nostrum or EMN. As far as I could tell a well-established region claiming to be the legacy of Rome. Truly a rare, original concept, but nonetheless not a reason to stop me from poking around the region. I decided going to the pinned dispatches first would be a good idea. There were newbie guides about NS in general and the WA, as well as regional government positions/departments and how they work. Except for the occasional white text on a yellow background that burned my retinas, I thought they were very helpful. And that's where I learned about their implementation of different religions you could join and a university that you could teach a class at if you were experienced in it. Like the history of a war for example. While I'm not entirely sure how original the idea is I thought it was cool nonetheless!
Next, I decided to join the discord, I recognized some regional officers that were in Karma so I decided to go incognito. I don't really know what inspired me to do this, I guess I thought it would be more natural if I wasn't visiting from another region. Turns out it was a good choice because pretty much every other person in the server was in the Karma server! So I decided I wouldn't really chat there cause that would just seem weird to me, but I looked at some of the messages and it seemed like a pretty nice community. Of course, there were some bad memes sprinkled in as well. Which I've found to be quite common among internet denizens. But to be frank it wouldn't be a discord server without them! Anyway, seeing as I wasn't going to be talking on the server I decided to move on and message the RMB instead to see if I could get some interaction. I was welcomed kindly, and the conversations were witty, which I enjoyed. While I was there they had created a poll that openly made fun of all the different heirs to Rome which I appreciate coming from a Roman-themed region! I also have a feeling the RMB was slower since I was visiting on the days leading up to N-Day but it was still relatively alive and fun!
I also looked around the regional forum but didn't really stay long as offsite forums are usually quite inactive and this one looked no different. Still was quite helpful just looking around it though. There looked to be a pretty active and interesting roleplay community as well but unfortunately, with my limited role on the Discord server and forum, I wasn't really able to see it, and this was the case with the military as well. That pretty much wraps it up though! I thought it was a pleasant region overall. Even though I didn't get to interact with anyone that much it was still fun to explore and write stuff down! Even if I get a little sidetracked sometimes. On that note, a special thanks for being so welcoming when I came back from doing spooky spirit things. Not only that but letting me pick up my Bodhi again as well! Anyways, that's enough out of me! I hope you found this at least a little bit enjoyable.
*hopes that humor will make up for bad writing skills*
